Alexis M. Fischer,
Poet & Artist 

From a small New York village along the Hudson River, Alexis Fischer (23) is a local Artist and published Writer. In 2024, Alexis completed a four-year program in just seven semesters, obtaining her Bachelor's degree in English with honors. Alongside literary studies, Alexis infiltrated the Art History program to familiarize herself with cross-cultural and gender-specific impacts on Art. Alexis further researched intercontinental teachings like African Women and Power, Global Environmental Policy, and Asian history, mentored by scholars native to the origins of curricula to abolish a reluctant reliance on Westernized rewriting & bias. In her latter three years as a scholar, Alexis wrote for her institute's largest student-run university news publication as an Opinion Columnist. She further collaborated with peers and external mentors on implementing contemporized university policy, managed public relations and fundraising for her athletic team, participated in charity projects like Make-a-Wish events and food/clothing drives, and worked independently on her writing under the fortunate mentorship of renowned poets.

At 20, Alexis was commissioned to craft two custom display paintings for the Grand Opening of a local business owner's Wellness Bar. Since, Alexis' ongoing craft has matured from acrylic-based, two-dimensional works to finding an eventual fondness for clay/cement sculptures and mixed media pieces. Soon after the artistic debut, Alexis' poem, Hysteria!, was selected to be published in the undergraduate literary journal, Oakland Arts Review, as a contributor. Presently, Alexis continues to create artwork and written pieces while holding a management title at an upstate rehabilitation site in Ithaca, New York.
